Seeger

01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of St. Gallen at Oberer Graben 2, Seeger masterfully combines the best elements of a restaurant, bar, and café to deliver a truly inviting and versatile dining experience. Whether you’re stopping by for a morning coffee, a casual lunch, an elegant dinner, or creative cocktails to wind down, this vibrant spot effortlessly caters to all tastes and moods.

The moment you step inside Seeger, you’re greeted by a thoughtfully designed interior that blends modern aesthetics with a relaxed ambiance. As customer Leia Sikora enthusiastically describes, the "cool bar" and thoughtful design provide an experience that’s as pleasing to the eyes as it is to the palate. The atmosphere buzzes with energy, especially during weekends, making it a fantastic place to enjoy people watching, lively conversation, or a serene moment with a matcha latte in hand.

Seeger’s culinary offering stands out with its emphasis on quality, homemade ingredients, most notably in their pinsa—a Roman-style pizza that Leia raves as “one of the best outside of Italy.” The pinsa dough, perfectly balanced between airy, crisp, and soft textures, showcases the kitchen’s dedication to authentic flavors. Alongside their expertly crafted small plates that are ideal for sharing, the menu invites guests to indulge in a spectrum of tastes that feel both comforting and refined.

The bar program deserves special mention for its innovative cocktails, celebrated by many patrons including Bróna Dunne who highlights the quality of drinks, though noting that service can be a bit slow during busy periods. However, this seems to be the exception rather than the rule; the attentive and friendly staff, particularly standout servers like Evelyn—praised enthusiastically by Mustafa Durmaz for her warmth, speed, and professionalism—ensure a welcoming experience that keeps guests returning.

It’s worth noting that while Seeger thrives on its lively atmosphere, this sometimes translates into a bit of noise, as noted by Daniel Maslowski. But for those who relish a spirited environment paired with exceptional food and drink, this liveliness is part of the charm. For quieter moments, weekday visits or non-peak hours might offer a more relaxed setting.

Whether you are seeking a sophisticated breakfast, a casual coffee break, a cozy dinner, or an evening of inventive cocktails, Seeger in St. Gallen promises a dynamic and memorable outing. Its blend of quality fare, heartfelt service, and chic atmosphere makes it a must-visit destination for locals and travelers alike.

Our waiter was super kind (even though it was very busy) and the ambiance and interior design is very nice, with a cool bar. Great for breakfast, lunch, coffee, dinner, or drinks! The pinsa was one of the best I‘ve had (outside of Italy). The dough was undoubtedly home-made and a perfect balance between airy, crisp and soft.

They are a bar. It is very random, but they have take out matcha. You can also have a chill afternoon and drink coffee there on a weekend. Fair warning, there are a lot of people visiting the place during the weekend.
